Main fields of interest :
  • Crushing, process
  • Feed industries
  • Nutrition
Professional experience : Research interest is within animal nutrition with focus on vitamins, antioxidants, lipids, lipid oxidation, protein sources, protein quality, as well as anti-nutrients in feed. One focus area is lab scale extraction and upscaling of separation of protein, fiber and secondary plant metabolites from green biomass for utilization in feed, food and pharma. Another focus area is utilization and function of natural vitamin sources. Widespread experience in leading and involvement in projects related to these fields. The work has been published in more than 400 publications of which >160 is peer-reviewed within the area of basic physiology, nutrition, biochemistry, animal product quality and animal health, as well as development of new sensitive analytical methods on HPLC and GLC. The spectrum of animal species involved in the research comprises cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, mink, horses and humans. Member of the board of “International Consultative Group on Rapeseed”, as well as reviewer at a number of scientific journals. He is member of the steering committee of Centre for Circular Bioeconomy at Aarhus University.
