Professional experience : Hybrid high erucic acid rapeseed (HEAR) and canola cultivar development. This research focuses on conventional and herbicide-resistant rapeseed and canola cultivars and the development of seed quality traits including oil, protein and fatty acid content. Breeding for improved disease resistance to changing pathogens is an essential part of the research program. In parallel to the applied research, fundamental research is conducted to identify the genes and the mechanisms controlling the traits listed above.
